THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL NANNIES RESPONDS TO DEPRESSED ECONOMY BY OPENING UP FREE MEMBERSHIPS TO ALL NANNIES
As the economy lags, nannies struggle to find jobs, and the organization goes through a reorganization phase, The Association of Professional Nannies reaches out to nannies around the globe by discontinuing membership fees.

Hilton Head Island, S.C. August 30, 2009 -- The Association of Professional Nannies, an educational and networking organization for nannies, announced today that membership fees for nannies are being discontinued. "We are doing this for a few reasons", says Jennie Krogulski, the group's founder. "The first and most important reason is the economic downturn that our country is facing right now. Nannies are certainly feeling the effects of the downturn, and we want to meet them where they are. We want everyone to feel welcome, to be able to participate and contribute to our nanny community despite their financial or employment situation. It is important for nannies to have access to educational opportunities, networking, and support systems, and we want to do everything we can to provide that for them."

The organization is also in the midst of reorganizing and regrouping. "We are in the process of changing our website, adding some blogging features, integrating facebook, and a number of other social networking tools.", says Krogulski. "There are some amazing tools available at little or no cost now to our organization that we are able to utilize in place of older systems that once required membership fees. We are eagerly anticipating unveiling these changes for our membership."

In place of dues, nannies will be required to sign and return an APN Code of Practices Pledge to gain membership. Nannies who wish to join must commit to adhering to the Pledge as long as they remain a member. To sign up for membership or obtain more information, nannies should visit www.nannyassociation.com.
